Woodpeckers and Oil Palm Fruits


This Woodpeckers was found with Palm Oil fruits by the road side.
I don’t think this bird eats the mesocarp of palm oil, maybe searching for insect inside the bunches.

Common Flameback (Dinopium javanense) – female (above) male (below), and Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis)

Location: Near Padang Golf Raub, Pahang.

  1. Apa Kapa?This woodpecker looks like the ones in the trees in NTU in Singapore when i was living there. They make quite a noise.
