Serindit

Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot – Serindit
(Loriculus galgulus)

My late grandfather used to keep the serindit as a pet. He reared it in a rolling cage. The serindit will walk the wall and the cage rolled at the axis. I remembered the beak was yellow in colour ~ maybe a juvenile species.

All this picture shows the female species.
The male’s colour is more striking, with red on the throat and blue on the head

This is the male species by ANG – taken from birdinginmalaysia.com (without permission)
